And where oh where has ol’ Blom been lately? Of particular note he’s been missin’ from these scenes as sure as he is supposedly the main character of this situation that’s flyin’ outta hand. No matter. Blom comes back for this one.

For indeed Blom had a right ol’ time of it tryna lock down Crylax and Glen in the same room at the same hour. Crylax was in need of talkin’ to Glen somethin’ fierce. Somethin’ about the Jibberjabs.

We’ll be resumin’ this one on the airplane tomorrow afternoon. Seems we can’t summon the energy to make this one worth readin’ or writin’.

And we’re back. Where were we EXACTLY? We were with Blom. Blom polished the tankards and watched Crylax fraternize with the Ragged Maiden guests in the common room. He observed two things: people were either drawn to Crylax or they were repelled by him. That’s technically one observation broken down into two options.

Hem Slonnigum the younger, that rascally rascal, was among those drawn to the tall, dark adventurer dominating the common room. And so it was spoken true INDEED for the lad sat transfixed in the man’s presence.

“Someday you’ll see the Wide World,” Crylax was saying to Hem. Ok great another scene that started with Blom and shifted over to Hem again. Guess this is becoming Hem’s story. “I can see it in your FACE, lad, you’ve got the fires.”

“Aye, the fires, I’ve got them,” repeated Hem in a spell.

“Have you seen Glen Blomgrin lately, then?” Crylax asked.

“Now Crylax,” interjected Blom from the other end of the room. Talk ceased for a moment as his voice cut through the hummmmdrum dummmdumd hummy drum humdrum hummmmmdrum. “Let’s leave the lad be.”

“And why’s that, Blom?” Crylax FIRED back. “Anytime one of these scenes starts to get anywhere interesting it’s suddenly time to end it. Why don’t we linger a bit longer and see how the dialogue develops our characters?”

“Aye you have the right of it, old friend,” sighed Blom. “Trouble is no one wants to read these lil’ vignettes if they get any longer than 500 words. Most sincere apologizin’ but that’s the way the world is.”
