A SHORT HISTORY OF GILBA GILBA

This being the account of the history of the village known as Gilba Gilba as told from the perspective of a rushed historian who’s under the GUN beyond belief and he’s got nothin’ better to do but write as his country folk talk so let’s get this one in the bag, people.

In the year of 553 during the Great Inn Wars (started by King Jigexijicab) the Great Inn Accord was drafted oh my god this sucks. We are scratching the history of Gilba Gilba and just moving on to something else with our impatient adolescent Hem Slonnigum.

FOR INDEED Hem Slonnigum was out walkin’ Valma’s Way with what’s her name, Melley I believe. We’ll have to double check her last name on account of nobody rememberin’ it. MELLEY FRUMTARM was her name.

Hem and Melley were out walkin’ together checkin’ out Valma’s Way. Bet you totally forgot about Valma’s Way, didn’t you? Jee Banferd mentioned it when he and Nud the Bud got into a little scuffle in the Ragged Maiden. That was many scenes ago.

“I love this part of the region of the village of the spot that this is!” exclaimed Melley as she clapped her hands together and jumped up and down. “How did you know?”

“Well, I like it too, I reckon that’s how,” Hem replied, working on his smooth lines.

“You ever take a lass out here before this lass right here you’re takin’ out?” Melley asked in wonder.

“Not such a lass as ye, I do declare,” answered Hem with more smoothness than a slick oily rock in the middle of an Autumn Storm.

“By gunford it’s the finest I ever did see.” Melley was pleased and she hummed to herself.

Hem was lovin’ this and he let himself love it for once. He knew exactly how he wanted it to go with the lovely Melley and he had the attitude and sure-mindedness to get it. FOR INDEED he had managed to catch a lil’ visit with Glen Blomgrin. Perhaps the next scene will be a flashback entailing the details of their encounter.

BUT PERHAPS NOT. For that is then, and this is now. Valma’s Way.

VALMA’S WAY was a secluded patch of forested loveliness within the confines of the Fleep Fleep forest. It was a preserved area known for its exquisite natural views such as waterfalls, lakes, falls of water, falls of water that fell into a lake near another waterfall that fell into the lake, and a bridge of deep beauty. In the Autumn it was of particular loveliness, as the falling leaves from the towering trees performed a sort of elegant dance on the surface of the lake. The clatter of the waterfalls filled the area with the misty heady sensation that characterized the mysterious wonder of Valma’s Way.

“I’ve been fixin’ to take ya over to this section o’ the world for some time now,” continued Hem who slicked his hair back with the absolute confidence of a man twice his age. WHAT was this boy playin’ at?

“It’s real nice, I admit it, and I admit I never even been here even though Haralumia always likes to chide me for never makin’ it!” Melley’s long sentence replied to Hem’s. It was the way conversations worked in Gilba Gilba if you haven’t noticed that by now.
