Jee Banferd was still a simple man by all accounts. He had hisself to account for and that’s about it, I reckon. Sometimes he headed on down to the Ragged Maiden to partake o’ the latest, but the latest didn’t exactly interest him these days, not so much as they used to. Sometimes he wondered about that, but mostly he didn’t.
He sat out on his back porch smokin’ his t’backer like he liked to. It was right cold nowadays what with the Autumn Storms in FULL FORCE blowin’ their gales right on through the streets o’ Gilba Gilba like they laid claim to the city. In some ways they did because nobody else did, not in this weather.
So he shivered on shiverin’ on, drawin’ forth that sweet spice of his t’backer and blowin’ it back out with the same sorta pleasure the Autumn Storms were takin’.
Tea-makin’. That’s what Jee was thinkin’ about these days. If he could get somethin’ like that goin’ why oh why he could make some dracoin, that’s true. Tea was a rarity out here in the ASSOL Outlands.
His t’backer stick was droopin’ a bit outta the left side o’ his mouth but he didn’t take no notice. He just pulled on it a few more times and enjoyed the sensation. A lil’ bit o’ drool came spillin’ out. Wonder what that was about? Ah Jee was just gettin’ older that’s what!
No lass in Jee’s future, he was resignin’ hisself to that reality much the same way a man o’ his age does. Ain’t no serious loss if he’s takin’ stock.
Jee was havin’ a bit of an issue raisin’ his arm now. Couldn’t quite manage a shift of the t’backer stick! It fell outta his mouth and he blinked in some sorta confused manner as it rolled onto his porch, its lil’ red embers goin’ up and down now in the wind.
He just sat there ponderin’ the whole situation, thoughts makin’ no sense. Gettin’ old real fast now. A ragin’ pain of a headache erupted in his head and he struggled in his ol’ rockin’ seat. No real luck sadly on account of his inability to make much movement of any kind. And that’s just where his neighbors found ol’ Jee Banferd the next mornin’.
