Billy in the Dark

"Pretty dark out here, Billy."
"So it is, Willy. So it is."
"Got the stuff over here as agreed."
"9 billion kilograms?"
"9 billion kilograms."
Billy had to trust him. His eyesight wasn't too good but he peered into the blackness anyway, trying to count to 9 billion and pretending he knew what he was doing. Couldn't do it. What the hell was the colonel thinking, setting up the handoff in a warehouse like this? With no light? Come on. Just come on. "Make sure that slimy fuck brings it all," he'd reminded Billy at the briefing. Made sense at the time, but at the time he was coming down off a thumbprint of acid so just about everything made sense if we're being honest here. Ya gotta be honest in this line of work. How was he supposed to count all this shit? Well, he'd just have to do his best.
Billy glanced behind him. Yep, there was the colonel dirtying up the frame, just like in the simulations. Man that guy's creepy. Could he turn on the damn lights please?
