The Game

The Game

Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back into the same box. It’s pretty brutal in there. Worse than on the board. Everyone packed into this “box.” No privacy. Faceless pawns all bumping into one another, eating dirt. Bishops howling from the corners, screaming “Life is a game and God is playing against himself!!” until the knights step in and box them out. The king has no real power, hiding behind the authority of his name until confronted with a problem. The queen loves the attention but not those who give it. Oh well.
