By the King's Orders

Another rainy day in the rainy land of Rain Land, a sub-territory of the Hyrulian provinces and one that King Harkindinan desperately needed. Political support was wavering lately and the King needed to convince the provinces that Hyrule was the way to go. "I am king!!" he screamed to his advisors. "And yet they do not love me!!!"
"Yes milord." "Truly, sire." "Aye prithee indeed most grand sire." "My sire my liege my only king, 'tis thee who deserves thy promised land."
"GET ME LINK!"
Link was fetched immediately. He was in the castle courtyard practicing swordplay with the knights. They brought him into the throne room. "Yes my liege of what can I be done for you of service to be in thy service whilst that doth serve?" Link bared his knees and then put them down on the ground.
"I need Rain Land, my boy," the king said, pacing his throne room like a cat. "The voters are upset with me."
"My lord," Link interjected carefully, "the voters?"
"The voters," repeated the king promptly. "They must be brought under control."
"You do not need the consent of the voters, my liege, only their lives." This was true. He was king. Link was the only one in the kingdom who had the guts to say this.
"NONETHELESS!!!" screamed King Harkindnanmen. "I will have their love!"
Link swallowed and bared his teeth in what he hoped was a friendly smile of acquiescence. "Yes sire."
"Take your finest hookshot and voyage to Rain Land," commanded the king, "and demand an audience with their steward, Stuart the Stewman. Offer him riches, offer him women, offer him our FINEST INKS AND DYES!!!" He was raging. "I do not care what it takes!! I WILL HAVE RAIN LAND!!" He punched the air with a mighty fist and his beard launched out in front of him like a tapestry in the wind.
"My lord, it will be done." Link bowed and touched his forehead to the ground in a display of extreme respect. He hated this. He was an adventurer, not some courier boy!! "I will deliver Rain Land to you in one week's time, this I swear to you. You have my word."
"NO!" King Harkinmanm whirled on Link, eyes ablaze with the inferno of a god's beating heart. "I cannot wait another DAY. My kingdom grows restless. A wind is rising. A wind of treachery and betrayal. Have you felt it?"
Link had not. "Yes, sire, I have."
"Then you know of our urgency, our plight. You know what is at stake." He staggered up the stairs and sat on his throne or whatever. His foot tapped with impatience. "WELL?! OFF WITH YOU, BOY!!"
Link did not move. "My lord."
The king grunted.
"I cannot but request a horse so as to speed my voyage to Rain Land." His mind was set. He would take this horse and ride it straight out of Hyrule and never return. He would not set foot in Rain Land and instead set up a textile business in the East. He had already planned this. He had studied the markets in the East and realized he could make a lot of rupees. He could retire early and live a peaceful life in the villages there, away from the Kingdom of Hyrule.
"Ah but of course, my lad." The king considered with a finger on his chin. "You shall have your pick of the stable. You may even take Sir Barabaraarrararabarabara's finest steed, the Black Horse of Legend."
"Thank you my lord. I will not disappoint you."
"SEE THAT YOU DON'T!!" shouted the king in a voice. "For if you do not deliver Rain Land to me in one day's time I shall EXECUTE my only daughter, Hyrule's beloved Princess Zelda." He shuddered and convulsed and then LAUGHED. "These are my terms."
"I accept." Link bowed deeply once again, already planning his way out of Hyrule and his new life as a textile merchant in the East.
