Link looked at the thing and sighed. "I can't buy this."

The shopkeeper's face fell. He was so close to making the sale. "What do you mean, huh? It's a great deal!"

"It's faulty. You're selling broken goods." Link made as if to leave the dark shop, lit only by a few flickering torches and the shopkeeper's unpleasant toothy smile.

"No! No it isn't! It just takes a little practice." Desperate shopkeeper, desperate sales tactics. "Look, hand it over. I'll show you how to cast the Great Spell of Greatness!"

"It's a faulty book, good sir, and I will not spend my hard-earned rupees on faulty products." Link left the shop and dropped the bad book back on the counter before he left the shop which he did after he dropped the bad book back on the counter.

He stepped outside. This village was sinister, he could feel it. Even the name was a name of ill portent: Sinisterville. Why did the Sage of the Hills instruct him to come here? There was nothing but dark omens in the air these days. Could he even trust the Sage? He had no choice. It was his only clue to recovering the Hidden Agenda. Link pulled his map out. Okay, there. There he was. Grablor Mountain was a two day's hike northwest. He would be passing through the Vale of Shadows and then the Valley of Shadows. If he could emerge with his mind he would be then entering the Village of Shadows. According to the Sage of the Hills he could find the VAaaaarmjahr of Shaaaaaaadooooooowwwwwssssssssssssssssss.
