New Approach on an Old Enemy Outpost

"How are we going to approach this?" Hibber said in fright. He was a little spooked but he always got spooked on these surprise raids. He was getting better though.

"We'll figure it out," Link assured him. "We'll probably have to figure it out in the moment, but this won't be so bad. Remember Breton's Hollow?" He nudged Hibber playfully.

"Heh, yeah," Hibber chuckled, a little less anxiously. He did remember Breton's Hollow. It had only been a few days ago. Hibber had done splendidly.

"Okay, that's the attitude. That's the energy I need you to bring." Link pulled out a hastily scrawled map of the enemy outpost that they would be soon attacking. Moblins, Hoblins, Gorblins, and Hobgrablins patrolled the lower level. This was easy. The tricky part was the upper parts. That was always difficult. You just never could get the right footing while fighting up a set of stairs. Not to mention swords swinging down on your head. A pair of Verg Barten Grabbagers were stationed at the top. That would be tough.

"I'm not going to lie to you, Hibber," Link cautioned, "this is going to be a tough one."

"But what's the plan?" Sweat was pooling in insane puddles at Hibber's feet. Was that sweat? Link hoped so. Sweat was one of the Eight Virtues. You see sweat, you know you're in for a good time. As to when that time would be, well, that's why it was one of the Virtues. "I can't see a way into this. The archers and scouts will see us immediately!!" Panic seeped into Hibber's tone.

"It will be insane I have to admit," Link conceded, studying the map carefully, and then gazing out into the distance where the actual outpost lay nestled against a snug collection of large rocks. "But capturing that outpost is crucial. The chest at the top alone contains enough firepower to.... no... let's not get ahead of ourselves."

Link had lost a rather large handful of assistants in previous assaults but he was getting better. He had a feeling about Hibber. This would be a good one. "All right let's just do it, I dunno." He checked to make sure his sword was loose in his scabbard and then leapt free from the hiding place. Hibber choked in surprise.

"W-wait!!"

"You gotta hurry the fuck up, man!" Link yelled back to him mid-run. "Get the fuck moving asshole!!" Enemy arrows were already sprouting on the ground near Link. The scouts had spotted him! They were blowing their sentry horns, alerting the rest of the outpost!

Hibber shuffled out, charging after Link and hoping to gain some ground on him. He wanted to show Link he could be useful but instead was cut to pieces immediately by some of the enemy arrows.

"God dammit," Link grunted. He engaged the enemy and proceeded to destroy every last one of them.
