Victory of Fire and Ice
March 03, 2019 - 320 words
A BOLT OF FIRE slammed into the ground from the upper right, throwing Link and all his belongings into disarray. Flame consumed the air. He rolled out of the way. He had avoided most of the deadly attack, but the blast had left him singed. And now it was time for a little payback. Scrambling on all fours to temporary cover underneath an outcropping of Hylian Rock, he surveyed the area. I wonder if...Β Yes. That. It. Exactly that. He would be able to mount a counterattack from... THERE. That copse of trees. If only he could get over there before another attack came.
Fire arrows. That's what they were. Now that the blaze had quieted he could see how things had unfolded. A few bokoblins most likely, judging from the territory. Lizazlafoflosfos did not wander these parts as a rule. They did not often leave their outposts down in That Part, and the Armored Grembols had all been exterminated several weeks before in a Wizzrobe experiment gone awry. The incantations had ignited something in the Grembols' bloodstream, blew them up where they stood.
Link took a few breaths and steadied himself. This is where it is when I decide to be there at the time when it starts to be when it is that I start. He could hear the bokoblins muttering on the outcropping above him. No doubt they believed he had been incinerated. He would have to make this quick. He nocked a notched arrow in his Notch Bow and without further delay, emerged from cover as though hunting a wild Wildwild.
"BREEEeeeeeeeeeEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPEPEPEEEEEEEPEPEPEEEEEEEeeeeeeepepeeeeEEeepep eEEEE!" shrieked the bokoblins in surprise, fear, anger, madness, rage, anger, startlement, amazement, astonishment, awe, bewilderment, consternation, curiosity, disappointment, jolt, miracle, revelation, shock, wonder, abruptness. They scrambled to pull another volley of fire arrows but the Zelda theme drowned out their attempts to just that and they found themselves destroyed by Link's cunning prowess.
